Bollywood Steps is a unique British Bollywood outdoor dance spectacle bringing together stunning choreography, pyrotechnics, water effects and lighting to create a visual feast.

Inspired by Bollywood films, the show will use Callendar House as its backdrop. Drawing on elements for which these films are notoriously known such as the glamour, the wet sari scene, the kaleidoscope of quick costume changes (the show features 140 costumes), boy meets girl and the courtship. As with nearly every Bollywood film, the piece ends with a magnificent wedding scene; the grand staircases decorated with flowers where the groom is waiting in anticipation for his bride’s dramatic entrance surrounded by her family.

This stylish production is choreographed by Simmy Gupta and features a cast of exciting young British dancers performing dance numbers fusing many different styles: folk, classical, Bhangra, hip-hop, jazz, salsa and contemporary dance. Bollywood Steps also touches on Busby Berkley’s Hollywood and combines this with an array of outrageous props, a clever use of smoke, pyrotechnics and gigantic water effects throughout that are not to be missed.
