The Skatalites

The Skatalites are one of the most popular ska bands around and are sure to bring the sound of Jamaican cool to Callendar Park on the Sunday afternoon.

Having recorded their first LP in Kingston which featured the classic The Guns of Navarone in 1964, the band’s popularity has spanned decades with them being instrumental in the rise of the ska scene, the creation of the reggae beat and nominated for a Grammy Award in 1996 for Hi Bop Ska and again in 1997 for Greetings from Skamania.
