Heaven 17
SUN 6 MAY

On Sunday night, who else to close the Music Stage but synthpop pioneers Heaven 17?

Inspired by Kraftwerk and Roxy Music, Heaven 17 was born in 1980 when Ian Craig-Marsh and Martyn Ware left The Human League to be joined by Glenn Gregory on vocals. Heaven 17 released some of the most striking and iconic hits of the decade such as Temptation which became a worldwide smash not only in 1983, but also when re-released in 1994. Critically-acclaimed albums such as Penthouse and Pavement and The Luxury Gap helped to define the sound of the time.

Still performing as the original line-up, their influence can be heard in today’s acts such as Scissor Sisters and The Klaxons.
